The name Ka Paso stirs up memories of my first job at a convenience store, way back when I was just a young buck of 14 to 17 years old. This establishment was situated in East Salinas, a vibrant and predominantly Hispanic community. As a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed clerk, I formed a bond with all of the store’s regulars. And what was the customary greeting we exchanged when they entered the store? Why, it was none other than “Que Paso” or “Que Paso, Amigo.”
Loosely translated, this phrase means “What’s happening, Friend?” Although technically, “Que Paso” is in the past tense and refers to what happened. But in reality, it is slang for “What’s up?” or “What’s happening?” And so, my friends, that’s what’s happening. As for the correct spelling of Ka Paso, I confess that I had to resort to the mighty Google to uncover it.
About Me
As I journey through the winding roads of life, I have come to a profound realization – my desires and necessities have become much more modest than those of my younger days. The sands of time have become a precious commodity, slipping away from my grasp with each passing moment. The age-old question looms over me, do I work to live, or live to work? The battle rages on within me, a constant struggle to embrace the former and shun the latter. For in simplicity, I have found the key to true contentment. Peace, Love, and Tennis is my motto….and favorite T-Shirt!
